This is huge! Congrats and I’m thrilled to follow along. Hand sanny. So cute. Our boys are definitely the same age. Mine called it “hanitizer” and I refuse to correct him and considered launching a line of hand sanitizer with that name.
Lindsay, you can totally cancel your Chase Reserve and they will refund your annual fee at a prorated amount (so 11 months worth)! Also if you’ve had the card for over 4 years, you can cancel it or downgrade it to a freedom. Then reapply for the Chase Sapphire Preferred to get the sign up bonus (60,000 pts) and still get plenty of benefits (2x travel points instead of 3x) fo $95 a year and free co-owners if you wanted to add your husband (reserve has a fee to add). Whatever you do, don’t downgrade the Sapphire to another Sapphire because I’m pretty sure then you can’t get the sign up bonus if you’d rather have the preferred. I did this all a few years ago when Covid + having kids meant I was no longer reaping the Reserve benefits. Don’t feel trapped if you don’t want it anymore! And Congrats on the partnership!
Seconding this, I've followed this exact strategy. As an American living in the UK (with a lot of guilt about being far from family), having enough points to visit home regularly without worrying about money is a huge reassurance!
Congrats, such great news! I have the same recurring dream!! "I have a recurring dream that I find an extra hidden room in my apartment—I wish that would come true (and maybe I’d find an extra bathroom, too)." — I read somewhere that it means your brain is expanding, making new connections and I'm sticking with that explanation!
About a month ago, I talked to a Chase rep to see if it would be worth it for me to upgrade to the Chase Sapphire Reserve from just the good ‘ld Sapphire. I wasn’t utilizing booking through Chase for travel (and honestly don’t plan to), so for me it wasn’t worth it. I only use my points for airfare too, so I would be curious if there’s a huge difference in perks between it and Freedom.

Would totally invest in that company, Sarah! (And thank you!)
I refused for years to correct my kids baby words. It's just so cute! They can be proper when they're old. 💯
