My husband found an Advent calendar for Cats at Costco. Each day, a different toy. We make him open the little doors with his paws and shriek in delight while he gives us his best “I’m too cool for this” look. And then he goes beserk!
This is very very very special Lindsey. My husband and I are in our first ever home this year for Christmas, and this weekend I put up decorations. Our house is now officially a winter wonderland. My mom's holiday hack that she has passed on? PAPER CHAINS! I made one with only red paper for our garland and one in every single color for our family room. The pad of paper costs $8 for 100 sheets (you probably already have it if you have kids) and paired with string lights, they are such a joy. Thought I would share as you have so many great ideas for kids in the mix, but also as a 30 year old, I enjoy the craft excuse as well :)
Christmas Eve dinner is fondue. Buying a premade fondue makes it incredibly easy, and it's fun to get out the fondue pot. The kids like the tradition, and it generates a lot of "wow" with very little effort.
I’ve never felt so nostalgic as when I read the phrase “eat Superdawg in the car”
Honestly, you can never go wrong w/ a Chicago-style hot dog, IMO!
Sending you a big hot dog mascot wink
