I appreciate people being so willing to open up their days like this to strangers. We're so blinded by our own experience it can be thrilling to read how others live their lives. Thanks for the peeks!
It's so hard, and I feel like I don't get much downtime or time to catch up with friends, to be honest. The practical answer is: I get up early and work an hour or so before Lou wakes up, and then most nights I work a bit after he goes to bed and/or Brian will take over in the evenings, depending on the day. I also write a lot on the weekends. So I work basically every day, and pretty much anytime I'm not with my kid, I'm working. It's not ideal, but I also love my work AND love spending time with him. I've always been a bit of a workaholic, but if I'm not working on the projects I'm passionate about I start to feel really blah.
I have to admit that was my first question as well (also a new parent with a baby recently in daycare!). How do you both work 50 hours per week with only 35 hours of childcare and that does not include the time it takes you to get back home from the daycare? A lovely insight into a lovely family but shame it was a weekend day.

Thank you, Joy!
I love Hidden Brain and something clicked when I heard Kristin's name because it's in the credits! Fun to put a face and life to the name.
I hope Lou is feeling better. Having a sick kid throws everything off balance.
Aww I hope Lou is feeling better now! This was such a relatable newsletter.
Thank you, Sri!
Love this--hope Lou is feeling better. And thank you for the shoutout for the fundraiser on April 10!
Of course!!
I don’t have kids (yet) but loved reading this all the same!
Genuine question as a new parent who also works ~50 hrs/wk remote: How do you do it with daycare only from 8:30-3:30?

Thanks for clarifying!
